Graduation Requirements |
|
All students must pass Algebra 1 and Geometry in order to graduate. Students must also complete at least one other math credit in the list above. If Algebra 1 or Geometry (or both) is successfully completed before the 9th grade, that class will not count toward graduation. Students must complete 3 credits of higher math during grades 9-12. Students cannot retake Algebra 1 or Geometry in grades 9-12 for math credit if those classes were successfully completed in the 6-8 grades. If repeated, the classes would only count as elective credit, not as math credit. Although state law now requires 3 years of mathematics, most universities expect students to have 4 years of math. The more math classes you take in high school, the better prepared you will be for college. Push yourself and do as much math as you can in high school. You’ll thank yourself later! |
